TERRACE, ROME
2012

In a smart suburb of northern Rome, this terrace presents a common dilemma: the huge surface area demands that it have big planters and bold planting, without eating too much into the relatively pinched usable spaces. But at the same time, the 'corridor' proportions must be disrupted decisively if the terrace is to lose its impersonal air.
